The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) gave $1,050,000, it’s largest donation ever, to the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

The O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB is one of 50 comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute.
The more than $1 million brings BCRFA’s donations to breast cancer research to UAB to nearly $10 million. The record-breaking donation is made up of $6,000 raised from the City of Gardendale’s annual Charity Bowl youth football tournament and $26,000 from Cahaba Brewery’s CahabaQue fundraiser. Almost half of the donation was raised through BCRFA specialty car tag sales, with 13,000 people purchasing tags across the state.
